Anglican Parish of Gisborne

Ministry with the Aged

The Parish is happy to arrange for regular visits to older people, as well as exploring the opportunities to be involved in our daily ministry.

Responsive & Interactive

Communion is offered regularly in THE ELMS, Gisborne, and on referral to Warrina.
Home visits are also made on a regular basis.

Please contact Fr Dennis for more details (5428 4038)

Bus Ministry

The Parish has a mini bus equipped with wheelchair access.
As well as providing transport when required, regular outings around the region (and sometimes beyond) are undertaken.
Contact the Office for more details!

Wider Scope

An important factor in keeping people active and healthy is to have continued involvement in the community. Age is not a disability but a sign of God's gift of wisdom and opportunity to us.
We actively encourage all to be involved in Parish life – from being in the congregation, volunteering in our Op Shops, the Bus Ministry (social outings on a regular basis), youth support and most importantly, the ministry of prayer.

Assistance to families

Sometimes, food security, advice on Aged Care Packages, or even monitoring those who are home is requested.
Through the Gisborne Caring Community Foodbank, assistance is available to assist in food security.
There are many in the Parish with experience and expertise in matters of mobility, health challenges (including Parkinsons, Alzheimers, athritis and cancer) who can offer some support and encouragement.
