Situated on the south side of Gebor/Mt Macedon, the Parish encompasses four localities with three Churches and two Op Shops.
The main centre of the Parish is Gisborne.
Although St Paul's Church looks much older, it was dedicated in 1957, replacing the original Church that was relocated to Brantome and Fisher Street in the 1920s. That building was an early example of demountable and portable dwellings imported from England. Part of the old Church remains but is not significant due to many moves and renovations. The windows and some of the external cladding still remain.
St John's Church, Riddells Creek, is also a sojourner of relocation. Now situated on Melvins Road, it was moved as the rail line (duplication) was being expanded. A beautiful wooden building, it is the home of a young and growing congregation.
The Church of the Resurrection was built in Macedon following the devastating 1983 Bush Fires. That fire complex destroyed the Holy Trinity Church, Macedon, and the Church of the Good Shepherd, Mount Macedon. A modern and dynamic design, it also features a 10*3m stained glass memorial window designed and installed by the late Leonard French and the rescued pipe organ from the former Bendigo Cathedral. Macedon is a community that is slightly 'higher' than the others in terms of worship and music and is an eclectic, gathered and vibrant community.
Styles vary across the Parish – hopefully, a home for most people spiritually may be found.
Our climate is said to be 6 degrees in separation from Melbourne: it is more relaxed most of the time than the metropolitan area but nearly always pleasant.
Below you will find indicative weather for our region.

Tourism is one of the major industries in the area, as well as being a dormitory town for the nearby city of Sunbury and the Melbourne Airport precinct.
A highlight each year is the annual changing of colour of the deciduous trees, usually around April. The Shire Council and the local communities work hard each year to ensure that access to our beautiful scenery is undertaken safely. Sometimes, it seems that all of the Greater City of Melbourne are up here!
The Shire has a vibrant arts, local theatre and sports, and education scene. For the Parish, we are pleased to partner with Friends of Music at Resurrection (FOMAR) and bring quality music to the region.
Parts of the Parish area are heavily wooded with native Australian flora and fauna. If driving around dawn or dusk, we ask that you reduce speed as many of our native animals are keen to share the road with you.
In addition to kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, and the occasional koala, snakes and birds are also keen occupiers of our roads. As a rule, if a duck, snake or goose (or geese like in Riddells Creek) wishes to cross the road, you stop and let them. It is crucial that if the 'wild fowls of the air' (see Psalm 50.11 and Psalm 78.27) wish to cross the road, we do not question them as to 'why?'!
Fine food, wine and spirits made locally are also very much part of the scene.
Nearby towns of Woodend and Kyneton also add to the charm of the Shire. Mt Diogenes, near Woodend, has the famous "Hanging Rock", part of local lore and legend.
And does it snow? Yes, sometimes, but not often. A webcam of the top of Gebor/Mount Macedon operates most of the year.
And, of course, there are the three parishes of the Shire: in the Diocese of Melbourne, us, the Parish of Gisborne.
Also, the Parish of Woodend/Trentham and Kyneton/Malmsbury is within the Diocese of Bendigo.
No matter your journey, a warm welcome awaits.
