ANGLICAN PARISH OF GISBORNE
ANIMAL WELFARE GROUP

The Five Marks of Mission are an important statement on mission. They express the Anglican Communion’s common commitment to, and understanding of, God’s holistic and integral mission.
The mission of the Church is the mission of Christ.

The Five Marks of Mission are:
  1. To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  2. To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
  3. To respond to human need by loving service
  4. To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and pursue peace and reconciliation
  5. To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

The Parish Animal Welfare Group is inspired by the 4th and 5th Marks of Mission.
The Marks of Mission have been  accepted by the worldwide Anglican Communion
and the Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals (UK).

Our small group aims to raise the profile of animal welfare issues in the Parish and wider community.
Our activities include:
  • fundraising and material aid for local and other animal welfare organisations
  • advocacy to encourage caring, responsible stewardship for all animal life.

Membership is open to the wider community and includes email only membership.
